Just wanna let people know about the website instock.net for US/Cad miners. It shows current inventory of Amazon and Newegg regarding graphics cards, so you can compare prices and check out which ones will let you buy in bulk.
I am about to build my first rig, and still deciding the hardware configuration. I have an extreme newbie question (I apologize upfront if someone already asked this question).
When it comes to GPU mining, what does ASUS PRIME Z270-A have over ASUS PRIME Z270-P? Does the A series justify the $40 difference? The reason I am asking this is, I saw many people using A series mobo, including an earlier post in this website. However, the suggested mobo here is P.
Thanks!
Z270-A has one more PCIE slot allowing you to add 9 GPUs total if you use M2 to PCIE adapters on top of the PCIE slots.
Thanks!
I have the Z270-A completely satisfied.
Yeah… if you intend to go up to 9 GPUs later on. I’d do the -A model. Also, be sure to get a beefy PSU 1000+ Watt.
I suggest getting a dedicated mining board (BTC Pro, H110, Mining Expert) if you plan on expanding in the future.
Longevity and stability of using M.2 adapters is still up for debate VS using dedicated pcie slots.
