T-Rex 0.5.1 Nvidia GPU Miner Benchmarks and Review

The T-Rex is new NVidia GPU mining software for the lyra2z, phi2, hsr, c11, x17, phi and tribus algos. It is being actively developed by a bitcointalk user ‘trexminer’.

As for today, it is expected to perform about 5% better than Enemy and anxmod (we will see the benchmarks in a minute). It works both with Windows and Linux, making it pretty versatile. The miner is getting a lot of attention on bitcointalk, which is why new updates and fixes are coming out very often.

On the flip side, the T-Rex miner is a closed source project. It has got a reasonable 1% in-built developer fee. Another detail to keep in mind is that it only works with the newer GPUs.

T-Rex 0.5.1 System Requirements:

  • Pascal (10xx series) and Maxwell Nvidia GPUs
  • Drivers that support CUDA 9.1/9.2
  • OS: Windows or Linux

In Conclusion

If you don’t mind using a closed source miner, the T-Rex might be a great alternative to mine Verge, Zcoin and others. It’s easy to set up and it can be used to slightly lift the mining efficiency of your newest Nvidia GPUs.
