We all know Bitmain for their ASIC miners, such as the famous AntMiner S9 or the newer one T9. Hardware requirements change every day, and the company allows us to keep up to date by constantly releasing new miner models.
This time, Bitmain announced the release of a brand new Scrypt miner, the AntMiner L3. If you have been long enough into mining, then you surely remember how Bitmain cancelled the release of the AntMiner L1 back in December of 2014. According to the company, the miner wasn’t innovative enough to be worth the money. It is also worth mentioning that the company refunded all the preorders with the amount of 115% of the original price, giving the loyal customers their money back plus an additional 15% as an apology. This speaks well of the company.
Now, we honestly hope that the new AntMiner L3 won’t be cancelled. In fact, the company is already manufacturing the model, as we know from the few users who got their first units. For instance, Charlie Lee, the founder of Litecoin got his first AntMiner L3 in January of 2017. In his tweet, he states that he is pleased with the 250MH/s output of the unit with a power consumption of only 400W.
Just received an Antminer L3 to mine LTC. 250 MH/s @ 400W is 2.5x the efficiency of the A4! And it’s quiet. I’m impressed. @BITMAINtech

According to his words, that’s 2.5x the efficiency of the Dominator A4! This is true, since the A4 outputs 280 MH/s with a power consumption of 1000W. This means that you will save an important sum of money in the long run.
Besides that, the price of the unit itself is almost the half of the A4 – AntMiner website states that the L3 will be available for 1.825 BTC or about 1600 USD. Compare that to the price of the A4, which can be purchased for 2.400 USD in Alibaba!
The only thing to keep in mind is that the AntMiner L3 comes without a power supply. You will have to get a 500W PSU; however, even a cheap one should get the job done.
What about its availability? According to AntMiner, the model will be available in February.
Other Important Specs
- Scrypt mining hashrate: 250 MHS

The problem with this miner is that it can only mine LTC, and that sucks, becuase if ltc goes back to 3$ what am i going to do with this L3+ ?
Hi, you can mine anything that is on Scrypt algorithm, check here: http://whattomine.com/asic , LTC is not the most profitable there 🙂 actually it is on 9 place..
can i mine Gamecredits (also uses Scrypt)? How do i set it to mine other coins?
Yes you should..
Hi Ciprian, where can you see this specified on their site?
check the link i sent in previous message.
I started Mining but then I joined BitConnect and get daily interest to live on. Typically 1% Daily of what you invest. That is just rough because you actually make more and can reinvest and compound what you make. Click the link below to check it out and use my referral link to be added to my team.
