With the latest release of Claymore’s Dual Miner v8.0, besides the improvements and adjustments, there also was a new feature added which is Ethereum + PascalCoin mining. If you missed my article about the update you can check it here.

For this tutorial i am using the following configuration:
MoBo – $200 ASRock H97 Anniversary or $160 ASRock H81 PRO BTC
RAM – $65 HyperX 8GB
CPU – $75 Intel G3258 4 Pentium 3.20
SSD – $55 Kingston 120GB SSDNow
Risers – $50 6-Pack PCI-E 16x to 1x Powered Riser
PSU – $235 EVGA 1200W 80 Plus Platinum
6x GPUs- $1,200 Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 4GB
Frame – $190 GPU Mining Rig Open Air Frame Case or do it yourself, tutorial here!
Ethereum & Ethereum Classic hashing speed using 6x Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 4GB can be up to 170Mh/s.
Here is how you can mine Ethereum and Pascal at the same time with Claymore’s Dual Mininer:
Create PascalCoin Wallet Key
- First of all, create an account with https://poloniex.com/
- When logged in, go to “BALANCES” -> “DEPOSITS & WITHDRAWALS“
- In the search form type “pasc” and it will instantly show you PascalCoin, then click on “deposit” and the wallet key will be generated, save it for later.
- The click on Deposit Address to generate one, save it for later
Preparing Mining Pools
- As always for Ethereum i will be using https://ethermine.org/ (no account registration is required)
- For PascalCoin i will use https://pasc.suprnova.cc/, create an account with suprnova if you don’t have one yet/
- Once logged in, go to “Edit Account” and fill it up with your details, also don’t forget to add the wallet key there and to set
- Then go to “My Account” -> “My Workers” and create one
Claymore Miner Configuration
- Download Claymore’s Miner v8.0 https://mega.nz/#F!O4YA2JgD!n2b4iSHQDruEsYUvTQP5_w
- Once downloaded, extract the files from archive
- Right click on “start.bat” file and then click “Edit“
- Replace everything with the following code: EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal WALLET_KEY.RIG_NAME -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://pasc.suprnova.cc:5279 -dwal SUPRNOVA_USERNAME.SUPRNOVA_WORKER_NAME -dpsw SUPRNOVA_PASSWORD -dcoin pasc -dcri 10
- Replace wallet key, rig name, username and password with yours
- “Save as” .bat file and give it a name like ETH+PASC.bat
- Run the .bat file and the miner process with start.
That’s it, you are now mining Ethereum and Pascal at the same time with Claymore’s Dual Miner

I get only 13.9 Mh/s ETH speed on R9 280x. Is this a speed to expect on this GPU?
i think you should get a bit more than that, have you increased/decreased dcri ?
Yes, i tried to change dcri a little. But got only 14.05. How far can i change dcri?
It seems to be, this is OK speed for an R9 280X now. Last year it was 20, but now something seems to be changed.

I think they disabled their pool for pascal, you should use nanopool instead!

pasl is for pascal lite, try nanopool for pascal.
What do I put for rig_name? from this command -ewal WALLET_KEY.RIG_NAME ??

the readme says to install catalyst (crimson?) 15.2 but this is very old now. i can find it but to install it requires fglrx dependencies that are obsolete and can’t be found. could anyone help me understand if i need 15.2 (most recent for rx580 is 17.x) and how to install such an old driver? very grateful indeed.

I seem to be having issues with my drivers. For a 7 GPU rig with ASUS Rx480 8 Gb cards, what version of claymore and drivers should I try. I have used claymore v9.3 and drivers 16.6.2, 16.9.1 and 16.9.2

Is this more profitable than mining a single coin at a time? I’d guess that dual mining would split your Hashrates between the different coins, right? Please forgive my ignorance.
For example if I hash at 30 Mh/s only on ethereum, If I used this dual mining would my hashrate fall?
Hi, the hashrate will not split, you will have the same hashrate for ethereum or better.
Hey, suprnova isn’t accepting new users. When my miner tries to connect, it fails. So I’m using nanopool instead. However I can’t see my worker on the nanopool page, When I type in my address it can’t find it. How long should I wait?
Usually 10-15 minutes.
Use Coinotron for Pascal.
